I made some of Bryanna Grogan's seitan turkey and it is very good..is there a way to bread the slices and?

make something akin to Morningstar farms Chik patties? Here is the original recipe link, if anyone else wants to try it. It is labor and time intensive but tastes very similar to turkey and makes good cold sandwiches.

Goldenchilde11,

Way to go on displaying your ignorance. Do you even know what wheat gluten is? It's protein. Gluten is the protein portion of wheat. There are virtually no carbs in it because the carbohydrate is removed during the process of seperating gluten from endosperm starch. Please don't make me explain what endosperm is. Jesus.

Only gluten intolerant or wheat-allergic people need to restrict or eliminate their gluten intake.

I live in the Grain Belt and our farmers get protein premiums on wheat. High protein is high gluten, and gluten is what gives dough and bread its structure.I made some of Bryanna Grogan's seitan turkey and it is very good..is there a way to bread the slices and?
Ive tried that before and ended up with a bad case of Explosive DiarrheaI made some of Bryanna Grogan's seitan turkey and it is very good..is there a way to bread the slices and?
Oooh weee. Carb overload. No thnx. I'll have a nice lean cut of roast beef on Jewish rye, thank you very much. Seitan is just wheat gluten to the 3rd power. That can't be healthy, I don't care who you are. You all go through so much travail trying to make meat "substitutes" that are generally 1,000x more unhealthier than meat itself. But vegetarianism is supposed to be so gosh darn healthy. I smell conspiracy/irony/buffalo chips...
