Is there ANY way to get protein healthily that doesn't involve bad taste?

We are really picky, which I know makes it difficult. I don't eat seafood (allergy) or tofu (general disgust at flavor, texture, and appearance), and I don't do substituted meats (turkey sausage, turkey bacon, or ground turkey--OK, I hate turkey.) Egg beaters are too expensive, and protein powder always has a horrible aftertaste. I will do meat substitutes like Morningstar Farms veggie sausage or Boca Burgers. My family won't eat low-fat cheese, and one of them won't hear of eating a meatless meal.

For the record, I am an experienced cook, but can't seem to find any way to further dress up 96% lean ground beef and chicken breasts for my family, who won't eat meat substitutes (I'm the only one who will) and either don't like or can't eat fish. We all could stand to lose a few pounds. I would bow to the expertise of anyone who could provide some fresh ideas or options. Also, I know this is a huge pain in the neck. I live it!Is there ANY way to get protein healthily that doesn't involve bad taste?
i have this problem cause i'm diagnosed with anorexia and have to have some sort of protein that will help me out. so the only thing i eat is peanutbutter and peanuts! they have A LOT of protein in them and the good kind of fats. also, it helps fill you up so all in all; even though it may seem like it has a lot of calories, you'll actually be eating less in the long run because of how much fuller you feel. i hope this was of some assitance for you! i'm sure there's a lot of great recipies out there that have peanutbutter in them. even if you want to spread it on some banana's or apples, it's a great way to get the fiber and protein which will promote weight loss for you and your family! good luck with everything!
You mention meat substitutes a couple of times: what's wrong with actual meat? If your family's OK with ground beef and chicken breasts, fine, but what other cuts of beef and chicken, and what about pork (roast, chops, ground, fillets) or lamb (roast, chops, ground, fillets)? Is there ANY way to get protein healthily that doesn't involve bad taste?
All foods have protein. Great and healthy sources are beans, lentils, whole wheat etc. How about chicken stir fry or chicken fajitas?
Google ethnic recipes. Chinese, South American, etc. etc.Is there ANY way to get protein healthily that doesn't involve bad taste?
Try just boiled eggs are make scrambld eggs
As La Vie pointed out legumes are high in protein and a easy thing to incorporate into meals. I'd also suggest maybe looking at other beef options than ground meat. Flank, skirt and sirloin are all lower fat meat cuts. Pork is another good option, tenderloin or ground can be used for a variety of dishes. A few dishes you could try include dumplings, cassoulet, stuffed cabbage, soups/stews, chilaquiles, rouladen or brasiole. Eating vegetarian is incredibly healthy, just the added fiber is wonderful for your digestive system, I'd start out insisting once a week making a non-meat meal. Everyone should be able to handle one dinner per week without meat, excuses are just excuses.
