What to buy for aspiring vegan chef?

So yeah, I'm a vegan who is used to eating precooked frozen fare (i.e. Boca, Morningstar Farms, etc.) and I want to start cooking for myself. I have a few cookbooks (what vegan book doesn't come with an array of recipes?) but I don't really know what to shop for. I figured I could just buy based on a few recipes with common ingredients, but I get a sense of panic flipping through and trying to pick out recipes that sync up. Any idea of what some basic must-haves are? What to buy for aspiring vegan chef?
First - your going to need a well stocked spice rack.

Second - you will be buying mostly the same stuff you did as a meat eater minus the meat. You will use more rice and beans then you did as a meat eater.

Third - find 4, or 5 recopies you want to try out and get the ingredients needed for those recopies. What to buy for aspiring vegan chef?
Try getting a box of egg replacer. It's immensely useful for all kinds of baking. What to buy for aspiring vegan chef?
lots and lots of vegetables and fresh produce. Beans, tofu (the good stuff, not the bland dry spongy stuff).

If they can eat soy products, go for your life with those. Like, soy milk, soy ice-cream, soy chocolate...carob if they like that? Cornflakes to go with the soy milk. Rice, lots and lots of rice. pancakes made with water (if savory add some zucchini, leek, corn...). Corn crackers and dips, see if you can find any lactose and egg free bread? Any pasta that has no egg or milk?

Go to the supermarket and see if they have a health food isle. They usually have vegan things there, like vegan cookies and stuff. Don't get too many wheat products and eat those 24/7, because they are very hard on your gut and might have slight side-effects on your gut.
