Is it possible to gain weight switching to vegeterianism?

I work out at least 450 calories each day. (2 mile jog, 1/2 mile incline-fast walking, daily chores) and I think I'm actually gaining weight, though I think my diet thus far has been decent enough to keep me balanced at least till I perfect my diet.

Breakfast.

- 2 Toasted Wheat Bread Slices, each with a tablespoon of peanut butter.

- Scrambled Eggs (I whole egg) with red bell-pepper slices within.

Lunch.

- Hormel's Vegeterian Chili (It's a start, at least. I'm just learning to cook tofu!)

Dinner.

- Morningstar's Farm Veggie Burger (Tomato and Basil)

- Uncle Ben's Ready Remedy "Brown and Wild" Rice. (2 Servings)

Snack.

- Chobani's Greek Yogurt: Low-fat and 2%. Mango.

- Ritz Crackerfuls: Chedder. 1/2 Serving.

I know I lack vegetables, but today, for example, I've been eating for breakfast some oatmeal with flaxseed, walnuts, blueberries and milk. Then I always have carrots with ranch for a snack and something like tofu and spinach. Is it possible to gain weight switching to vegeterianism?
Lots of vegetables have starch which can cause weight gain. And muscle weighs more than fat.

Stick to a proven weightloss program like Atkins, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, etc.
Of course it is.

FWIW, Morningstar are really junky- even though they're lovely; read the ingredients- pure junk fast food!

That'sa lot of processed food. And yes, you can gain a ton of weight eating no flesh.

This question is just bizarre- it is possible? Of course it is.Is it possible to gain weight switching to vegeterianism?
Yes, it is possible, I did.
Even vegans can get over weight if they aren't careful.
While faux meat is great, you don't want to over do it.
You don't HAVE to eat tofu or faux meat. Beans are where it's at - get some vegetarian cookbooks to give you ideas of what you can make with them!Is it possible to gain weight switching to vegeterianism?
actually i gained weight when going vegetarian. no lie. i was 94 pounds and now im 98 pounds.
Yea, vegetarianism isn't a weight loss plan. Lots of people who become vegetarians end up eating a lot of bread and pasta, and not good stuff like beans, lentils, and nuts.

I'm not liking your food plan. Veggies instead of ritz is a better snack. And less processed foods. You don't need to eat faux-meat like Hormel or Morningstar to get protein, there's protein in beans, which are full of fiber and nutrients, minus preservatives and excess sodium. You don't HAVE to have tofu. I didn't have tofu until I was in college, and even then I didn't like it. Lentils is where it's at.

And you can eat a bit more fruit.

Also, if you're worried about gaining weight, you just need to portion control your snacks. I've heard that it isn't considered a snack if it's more than 200 calories. If it's more than that, it's considered a meal.

In general, you want to pair everything into a protein (beans, eggs, dairy, nuts) and produce (fruits/veggies) to make sure it's healthy. It's not hard to eat whole grains, so I rarely worry about getting that in, but protein and produce is big for keeping full and getting your nutrients in.
