I am planning on becoming a vegetarian, any tips? Thinking of becoming a lacto-ovo vegetarian gradually?

I have no plans or interests in becoming a vegan or anything besides a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I have heard that both that being a vegetarian is healthy and that it is not healthy. I have done some research and have found that vegetarians that eat eggs and drink milk have sufficient vitamin b12? Is that true?

I plan on starting in December eating meat one day a week. And then in January quitting all together. Right now I am 18 going to college living at home. I really don't have money to spend on food. I eat boca and morningstar farms now and then. But what are other good sources of vitamin b12?

Any other advice will be appreciated.I am planning on becoming a vegetarian, any tips? Thinking of becoming a lacto-ovo vegetarian gradually?
Since you're eating dairy and eggs, there is no reason for you to worry about getting B12. It's in all animal products, not just meat. What I do is on top of eating dairy and eggs, I take a Calcium supplement (mainly because osteoporosis runs in my family) and a multivitamin everyday. That way, in case I end up not eating any animal product that day, I still have the sufficient nutrients.

The gradual plan sounds like a good idea. But I didn't have a problem switching over within a week.

Vegetarianism is a healthy way to live your life, as long as you get the amount of vitamins and minerals you're supposed to. Have fun, it's definitely worth the sacrifice, if that's even what you want to call it. :)

Being a vegetarian is just as healthy as someone who eats meat and junk food in their diet too. This is because you can't get all the vitamins and minerals, like protein, from most vegetables.I am planning on becoming a vegetarian, any tips? Thinking of becoming a lacto-ovo vegetarian gradually?
If you are going to eat dairy and eggs, you won't have any problems with B12. As long as you eat a balanced diet with lots of whole foods, you'll be fine.
