They taste ok most people say they are great. They are softer than a burger and taste like a softer burger with a strongly grilled taste. They are better if you prepare them with ketchup, mustard, pickle and lettuce ect. I like Quorn products, Tempeh ( you will need recipes to prepare this but most are easy-be sure to steam it before adding it to a recipe) People say seitan is wonderful especially if you learn to make it at home. You can use it in place of most meats. Light Life also has some great products worth trying. I don't like Field roast. There are fake lunch meats which taste good sauteed but they don't agree with me. You may have better luck.
They are softer than Boca burgers and have pretty good flavor by themselves, but you might still want to add additional condiments of your choice when you make them.
My favorite Morningstar product is the black bean burgers. They are quite spicy by themselves, but I serve them with sweet pepper relish to give them just a little more kick.
I prefer Nasoya tofu to any other type. I'll either chop it up in an Asian salad (of spring mix, carrots, broccoli, slivered almonds, chow mein noodles, ginger sesame dressing, and sesame seeds) or I'll heat up a box of vegetables (usually the teriyaki or szechuan vegetables Green Giant puts out) and serve the warm vegetables over cold tofu.
For frozen dinners with tofu: if you have a Trader Joe's near you, their vegan pad thai with tofu is excellent. It's high in calories though, so be careful how often you buy it. I also like Ethnic Gourmet's pad thai with tofu as well (this has more traditional ingredients and is about 100 calories less, but will cost a bit more than TJ's brand).
Tofu can also be heated, to be added to stir fry or Asian curries. What do morningstar burgers taste like?
Out of all the mock burger patties out there, I prefer Morningstar Farms. With that said, I try to eat them sparingly as they are ridiculously processed and loaded with sodium. They also aren't vegan, but you said you're a vegetarian so it's okay. My other favorite Morningstar product? It's a toss-up between the Starters Veggie Crumbles and the Buffalo Wings. The Buffalo Wings are super spicy.
My best advice for a new vegetarian is to try not to rely on the processed meat and chicken substitutes. Instead, fill your plate with beans, legumes and fresh veggies. While a veggie burger is fine for when the rest of the family is grilling beef burgers, meat and chicken substitutes are processed foods and very high in sodium. It's better to use that empty space on your plate for healthy, natural foods.
I like Morningstar burgers, haha, and I'm not even a vegetarian. They don't taste bad. I think they taste better than real meat. ( I'm not a big fan of beef, but I like chicken ). My favorite is the spicy black bean burger. You should really try it!
But I've also had the Asian style kind, this random turk'y kind, and a chick'n kind. What do morningstar burgers taste like?
I personally think they have the consistency of bread stuffing. And then it would depend on what flavor you bought. It doesn't do a thing for my occasional hamburger craving.
