I'm not quite vegetarian but I've been slowly cutting out meat in my diet. I'm only eating canned chicken maybe once a week and eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains. I have some MorningStar Farms meatless products and I'm kinda scared to try them. Does anyone know how they taste? What can I make with them? I have the following...
MorningStar Soy Crumbles
MorningStar Riblets
MorningStar Chik'N Strips
MorningStar Veggie Burgers
MorningStar Chik'N PattiesHas anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms meatless products?
Yes. I don't really eat them as often as I used to. It may be veggie but it still has tons of salt. Grill crumbles are awesome. I use them in tacos and spaghetti because I don't like beef. I don't care for the Riblets or Chik'N Strips but the Veggie Burgers and Chik'N Patties are delicious. I love toasting Chik'N Patties until the outside is golden brown and crispy. Then, I put it on potato bread with a little Vegenaise. Add a side salad and you have a great lunch or snack. I also like the Morning Star breakfast patties.
You should also try Worthington products. Just be aware of the salt.
Boca is disgusting btw.
I usually buy MorningStar brand just because they have more flavor than the others. I have tried lots of different types of the burgers and the spicy black bean and asian ones are my favorites because they have flavor while not trying to taste like meat. The pizza and mushroom burgers are pretty good too. They are good to make quick sandwiches with. Just add cheese and your fav toppings and some dressing or pesto. The Chik'N Patties and strips have an odd texture, but with barbecue sauce they are alright (just make sure no Worcester sauce in it-anchovies). Just make sure you do not overcook because when dry they get hard and a little gross.
Pretty much, I buy these to eat when I am feeling too lazy to make a meal. They microwave in minutes and are good main course sort of things.Has anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms meatless products?
I have MorningStar Vegan Grillers for my veggie burgers, and they're delish.
For the soy crumbles, you could do burritos. You can sautee green/red bell peppers, squash, zuchinni, mushrooms, and the soy crumble in olive oil, with spices if you'd like, and add salsa, corn, guacamole, cheese, and sour cream, and wrap it up in a whole wheat tortilla. Its healthy, quick, and easy.
Or you can top pizza with it, or use it in chili.
If you never try them, you'll never know :) %26amp; good luck with going veg!
I live on those things, they're delicious. Try the chicken nuggets with dijon mustard.
You can use the crumbles in spaghetti or chili. The chicken strips go great in fajitas/ burritos. The ribs are fine as is, just cook some veggies to go with them. The chicken and burger patties are self explanatory.Has anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms meatless products?
They are Heaven in a box!! I haven't tried the soy crumbles but I can tell you that the riblets are ssooo good. The Chick'n strips taste like the real thing, no joke. Everyone of their veggie patties are amazing! You have to try the sweet and sour chick'n, too. It is probably my favorite food. They have won the best taste award and it's easy to taste why. I also suggest Garden Burger brand. They don't have as much variety, but the flavor they pack into their patties is irresistible. You will like being a vegetarian.
the crumbles are really not a failure. i make use of, and like, TVP, which is what they are. If you add them with some red beans and onions u can make really good chili with them.
the chik'n patties are good i eat them with vegan fake mayonase, sprouts, and onions on buns. they dont taste like chicken and thats fine with me because even if they are a space-aged polymer of chemical matrix bound together with more chemicals, they taste GOOOODDDDDDDDDDDD
vegie burgers are just "ok" no mater what the brand.
i never tried riblets the picture looks creepy to me.
Soy crumbles: great in things like chili to give some more "heartiness" and protein; not a lot of flavor
Riblets: SO delicious! I love them.
Chik'n strips: pretty good on pasta and such
Veggie burgers: depends on what kind it is; most are good.
Chik'n patties: taste great, I used to love them before I went vegan (they contain eggs)
The soy crumbles are yummy in tacos or mac and cheese. The riblets are so delicious! I like them with a baked potato and broccoli. The chik'n strips are good. All the veggie burgers they make are great!!! Chik'n patties, again, are good but not great. Next time, the get the buffalo ones instead of regular. Have fun trying them out!
They are OK. We don't like the chicken strips though..they taste funny and have a odd texture. As far as the other stuff...you use them as if they were the real thing. The crumbles are good for Tacos, chili, pasta sauce etc. The riblets are good on a roll and so are the burgers and patties.
Yes!! they r VERY yummy! you should also try the sausage links! You can make veggie burgers, tacos, and other things with them. (as in the morning star products) The riblets r really good.
Thanks for helping save the cows!
Yes I have they are so good you should defiantly try them they are great I love them.
MorningStar products are really good. I have a lot of their products in my freezer and I eat them all the time.
Go ahead and dig in there so yummy!!
Meat eater with veg friends talking to you here. Meat is meat. Vegetables are vegetables. If you want veggies to taste like meat you're going to be sorely disappointed because they don't. The best veggie burgers are Boca, but not because they taste like meat (none do).
With that said, there's no reason to believe that eating veg means you can't eat well or tasty.
