What do you think of morningstar farms "grillers"? i want to get some vegetarian. giving up meat..?

The mushroom burgers are great and so are the hot dogs, the Philly , the Parmesan ranch , the spicy chicken and all basically. Be aware that they will not taste like meat but you can add any seasonings to them you like to help you convert. If you grill outside on the grill put them on frozen and watch carefully as they will cook quickly and keep turning so they don't burn. I will say to cook on low heat til you can tell they are hot so they don't burn when inside cooking. You can also fry the sausage links in a healthy oil like olive oil and they are good and tender with no gross hard wonder what it is chunks. The veggie bacon strips are good but low heat so you don't burn them , just til they brown. I hope this helps and if you have any questions IM me. Good luck to better health. What do you think of morningstar farms "grillers"? i want to get some vegetarian. giving up meat..?
Keep meat and get rid of cats
they are not bad but thats not something you can eat everyday Im telling you from experience you will get tired of them soonWhat do you think of morningstar farms "grillers"? i want to get some vegetarian. giving up meat..?
They are a great food for vegetarians and people trying to eat less meat. Try them as a veggie burger, or crumble a buger or two up in spaghetti sauce, tacos, or chili.

Good luck!
hey i m pure veg...not even eat egg or egg products...vege carries lots of food products gud for health.though u've choosen a gud one..but if u quit meat ,u need protiens...eat pulses and soyabean...(pure protein ,no fat)What do you think of morningstar farms "grillers"? i want to get some vegetarian. giving up meat..?
I like the veggie burgers - but not much else.
the morningstar grillers are okay...they are a little on the mushy side...their veggie bacon is really good though. I think the best veggie burger that I have found to have great taste and have firm texture is the Boca burger...they have different kinds....and they do not contain egg product in them. sometimes egg whites are in the moringstar products which cause them to have a mushy texture. Also try the Boca spicy chicken...it's really good!
They're pretty good.

You might also want to try Boca Burgers. There are a few different varieties available. So far Boca is my favorite brand.
i have tried them and think they are great. my meat eater husband says the sausages taste like the real thing.
I find the Morningstar Grillers to be more toward the garlic/dead animal flavor (even though they are vegetarian) If you look hard enough, you might find Morningstar Farms Vegan Grillers which used to be called "Better "N" Buger" They are lowfat, and fairly juicy. Boca also makes a decent burger. Morninstar farms makes the best hot dogs. Again, very lowfat, so cook them just until warmed through or the outside of the dog will turn leather like. They are very salty. My son lives on "Chic" patties.
grillers are OK but I prefer Boca burgers. Morningstar Farms makes a very good black bean burger as well. And Gardenburgers are good too.

Morningstar farms veggie corn dogs?

are these being discontinued or something?

does anyone have any information on this?Morningstar farms veggie corn dogs?
I haven't seen them for a while now. You can easily make your own using veggie soy dogs and corn meal.

Corndogs

1 cup soymilk

2 medium eggs, or egg replacer

1/4 cup oil

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/3 cups corn meal

2/3 cup flour

Pack of Smart Dogs

flour for dusting (about 1/2 cup)

Hot oil for Deep Frying

Popscicle sticks

In a large bowl combine the milk, eggs, oil, sugar and salt. Mix it very well. Sprinkle in the baking powder, corn meal and flour. Stir it all up to make a slightly thick batter.

Take your hot dogs and dry them off on paper towels. Dust the hot dogs with flour, coating them completely. The cornmeal batter won't stick to the hot dogs unless they are coated in flour. The batter just slides right off of the wieners naturally slick outsides. Shove popscicle sticks into the flour coated hot dogs. Set the hot dogs aside.

While all of this is going on, it's a good idea to get your hot oil to heating up. You want the temperature to be about 375 Allow the oil to preheat so it is almost smoking by the time you are ready to add the corn dogs.

Now, to coat the floured hot dogs with batter you have two choices. You can swirl the hot dogs in the bowl of batter until they are coated, and then drop them into the hot oil. If this is a little difficult I know of an easier way. Scoop some of your corn meal batter into a narrow jar or cup which is as tall as your hot dogs are long. Fill the jar or cup about 3/4 of the way full. Dip your hot dog into the batter while you hold onto the stick. Swirl the hot dog to coat it evenly. Be careful or the batter will overflow. Raise the wiener above the cup and let any excess batter drip off. Quickly place the battered dog into the hot oil. The oil will bubble up and cook the outside of the batter, making the corndogs the exact same shape as the ones you buy at the store.

Only fry a few corn dogs at a time. If the corn dogs crowd each other they don't fry very well. I only fry 2 or 3 at a time. Turn the corn dogs when the bottom side is well browned. Use tongs to remove the cooked corn dogs from the oil. Allow them to drain on paper towels. Repeat the process, coating and frying a few at a time, until all of the corn dogs are cooked. Refill the narrow jar or cup with batter from your bowl as necessary. Continue until all the hot dogs are coated or until you no longer have enough batter to coat the hot dogs efficiently.Morningstar farms veggie corn dogs?

what should i do with them? i was thinking burritos with refried beans, would that be good? if you've had them before, please tell me how you prepared them. thanks!Morningstar farms "grillers" meal starters?
They're great for tacos (just cook them in a skillet and add the taco seasoning), burritos (refried beans, corn, and queso dip inside, with your choice of veggies and sour cream on top), and white lasagna dishes (there are tons of recipes online... just substitute the crumbles for whatever meat they suggest). You can also use them for stuffed peppers. I don't eat tomatoes either, so I have plenty of recipes modified to avoid them.

    Here's the stuffed pepper recipe:

    Ingredients:

4 large green bell peppers (tops sliced off, and cleaned out and rinsed)

    1 bag of the grillers

    1 clove garlic, minced

    1/2 onion, chopped

1 cup cooked Spanish rice without the tomatoes (you can use white or brown rice if you prefer, but I like the flavor, myself)

1 jar queso dip (or you can make your own if you prefer)

    Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup shredded Mexican cheese (or cheddar, if you prefer)

    Preparation:

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place peppers on a microwave safe dish with the sliced end on the plate. Cover well. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes. Place peppers with sliced end up in a baking dish the appropriate size to accomodate the peppers without them tipping over (so a small, square cake pan will usually work). Brown the grillers with the garlic and onion. Add the rice and salt and pepper, stirring until well combined and heated through. Put this mixture in a bowl. Heat the queso sauce in the microwave, then pour on half on top of the grillers mixture. Stir until well combined. Quickly fill each pepper with the mixture, then top off with the rest of the queso (you may not use all of it) and add cheese to top. Cover and bake 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes (or until cheese is melted and slightly browned).

**You can also substitute other sauces for the queso. I just happen to REALLY like cheese and spicy foods. I have a friend who prefers brown rice and italian dressing in hers. It's up to you!
My wife and I use them to make Tacos all the time. Deelish!Morningstar farms "grillers" meal starters?
when I was a vegetarian I used to make sloppy joe's using those "crumbler's" and then I would put cheese on top. Delicious.
I really like them...when preparing any dish that calls for hamburger, instead of putting the meat in first, like hamburger, put the grillers in last...just long enough to thaw and warm them up...Morningstar farms "grillers" meal starters?
What I usually use them for is either to make tacos(I get one of those powder packets that are meant for regular tacos but it has no meat in it). Or Hamburger Helper's three cheese, it has no meat in it and it taste good! Just make it the way it says on the box but with the crumbles instead of the meat.
i had them vefor and like all their soy burgers and stuff but i dont know how to perpare them just put them on a pan and stick them in the oven there is directions on the!
I thought they were called "crumblers"? But anyways, I'm sure we're thinking of the same thing since they're like the vegan version of ground beef. They're really good with burritos. Just cook it like you would regular meat with a packet of taco seasoning. The instructions would be on back of the taco seasoning mix. It turns out really well.

Normally all I do with that "grillers" (or crumblers) is use it in spaghetti sauce. It turns out pretty good that way too. I don't like tomatoes either but I do like spaghetti sauce..so weird.
You use it the same way you would ground mest. I make tacos, cottage pie, pasta sauce, lasagna etc.
Sorry I am in Australia and have never heard of morningstar farms. What is that and why dont you like tomatoes.I have never known anyone to not like tomatoes.
You can use them w/ pasta (like lasagna), burritos/tacos, casseroles, stuffed green peppers (one of my favorite uses!), nachos or whatever you feel like really!
I use them in place of meat in any recipe.
I use it to make spaghetti, tacos, burritos, chili, sloppy Joe's... pretty much whatever someone would put ground beef in, I use this instead.

What can I do with two packages of MorningStar Farms Crumbles?

    Hi Everyone!

I'm new to being Vegetarian. I'm 20, growing up, I've never really liked the taste of meat. Now, I hate the smell of it when it's cooked. My older Brother went to Walmart and purchased some MorningStar Farms Vegetarian products. I have the following....

~2 Packs- MorningStar Farms Soy Crumbles

~1 Box of Chic N' Nuggets

    ~2 Packs- Chic N' Strips

I have no clue what to make with these items. Any ideas? What can I do with two packages of MorningStar Farms Crumbles?

    CRUMBLES

    -tacos

    -burritos

    -nachos

    -chili

    -egg rolls or spring rolls

Dice up three potatoes (skin on, washed) and add them to the large skillet. Add in some pepper, a little bit of salt, garlic powder and onion powder. When the potatoes are cooked, reduce heat to medium low and add in one of the Morningstar crumbles packages, about 1 cup corn (fresh, frozen or drained canned) and some soy sauce. Put a lid on it and let simmer until everything is heated through. Serve with some hot sauce if you like and enjoy!

    CHIK'N NUGGETS

-cook (bake, fry, nuke in the microwave) and eat with a dip

-cook and slice, put on a salad or into pasta

-cook and cover in your favorite hot sauce for boneless buffalo wings

    CHIK'N STRIPS

-saute in a stir fry of your choice

-make an alfredo sauce and heat these in the sauce, then serve over noodles

    -cook and serve in salad

-cook, chop, make chick'n salad by adding mayo, garlic powder, chopped nuts and diced apples (great as a sandwich or on crackers)

-chop and cook in a chili

-chop and cook in minestrone soup

    -make chick'n noodle soup

-cook with onions and bell peppers to make fajita filling

    -chick'n tacos/burritos

    Happy eating!
Spaghetti or other pasta with soy "meatballs" or the soy crumbles in the sauce.

I agree with the other poster about tacos, meatloaf, or chili. You could also make burgers or fry up some meat and mix it in some rice. I made a meatloaf the other day and surprised myself by how good it was. I did not follow a recipe, just mixed up some things in a bowl. Here is what I did:

1 lb of texturized vegetable protein TVP, but your soy crumbles should work. Put that in a bowl. Mixed in some Sazon seasoning, 1/2 onion, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes and some ground flaxseed (Few tablespoons). Then I had a can of stewed tomatoes. I put the juice from that into the meatloaf mixture. Stirred well. Then I formed it into a small loaf pan, pushed it down so it would stay together, and put the rest of the tomatoes from the can on top with a little organic ketchup. Yummy!

The chic'n nuggets can be eaten just as is after you cook them with ketchup or BBQ sauce and some home made fries. The chic'n strips could be served with pasta, put into a sandwich or many other creations. What can I do with two packages of MorningStar Farms Crumbles?
soy nuggets taste soooo good with hummus dip %26lt;3

you can use the crumbes for tacos or make a chili

you can also make a taco salad with it

for chic N' strip you can make a wrap with it

also you can put it in pasta

try eating it with peanut sauce and noodles with brocolli
We use Boca, but they are similar to MSF crumbles.

You can make chili, tacos, sloppy joes, meatloaf, shepherd's pie and anything else that calls for ground beef. What can I do with two packages of MorningStar Farms Crumbles?
With the crumbles you can use them in tacos or spaghetti sauce.
Yeah, I was gonna say tacos. But they'd work in spaghetti or soups too.

Has anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms soy crumbles?

Hi Everyone! I'm 20 and I've been Vegetarian now for about 2 months. I love it! But here lately, I've been craving home cooked tacos. My Mother makes the best tacos in my opinion! I was walking the frozen aisle yesterday and noticed a huge selection of MorningStar Farms Soy Products. I don't eat much soy products but I was wondering, has anyone tried the Soy Crumbles? I was thinking about making tacos Friday night. Any ideas?

Thanks!Has anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms soy crumbles?
    yum!! Hello.

well i use the morning star crumbles whenever i make crunch tacos, they are too delicious. I believe your family is going to love them. I have a picky boyfriend plus huge meat lover and i forced him to try my crunch tacos and he really loved them, also i tricked my 6 year old niece at the time telling her it was real meat and she actually believed it and wanted more. ^_^

So yeah, i have been a vegetarian for 3 years now :)

hope you and your family enjoi :)Has anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms soy crumbles?
Oh! I love those actually, also, I strongly recommend Morning-star spicy chicken nuggets, cut it up and put it in a taco and its amazing, but i just love spices lol, either one is really good as I have had both, and with all the other toppings I think it would be great.Has anyone ever tried MorningStar Farms soy crumbles?
here boca is a bigger product and cheaper than morningstar. When i use soy crubmles i cook it and add some cumin and tumeric. i like to make taco salads out of it :)
I eat them in tacos, but that's about the only thing I use them for.

I think they're really nasty unless you had lots of flavoring to them. They work well with the taco seasoning though.

How healthy are the Morningstar Farms corn dogs?

I'm feeling kind of bad right now, because for breakfast, I had a big bowl of cereal. Most of the cereal was whole grain (Honey Bunches of Oats/Trail Mix Crunch), but I mixed several chocolate cereals in it, along with Yogurt Burst Cheerios, Fruity Cheerios, and Honeycomb. I don't usually mix in so much junk cereal but I did today just for fun. For lunch, I wasn't too hungry, so I had a Morningstar Farms Meatless Corn dog, because I haven't had those in a while; usually I just eat the Boca patties, which have fewer cals and less fat. For dinner, we had Taco Bell. Now I'm kind of thinking I should have had the patty instead of the corn dog. Is the corn dog healthy though? How healthy are the Morningstar Farms corn dogs?
    Just eat light tomorrow

The corn dog although it does not have any meat is still processed foodHow healthy are the Morningstar Farms corn dogs?
Sometimes soy can do stuff like that! I tried soy milk and didnt like it. Then 10 minutes later I felt sick! And I threw up! I have had morningstar corndogs and they have done anything to me. It may have been something else! How healthy are the Morningstar Farms corn dogs?
I would suggest adding some fresh fruit with your breakfast cereal. Oatmeal would be much better than the dry cereal brands.

Eat a raw salad every day. Spinach , lettuce, or carrot salad will give you the added nutrients that your body need.

    Is morningstar farms 100% vegetarian?

They are, if you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian. Most of their products contain eggs, at least. Other products from them contain cheese, so obviously they'd have dairy.

Some of their products say that they are 'vegan', like their vegan burgers. If by "100% Vegetarian" you mean 'Vegan', they have some products for you.Is morningstar farms 100% vegetarian?
I think so, as they're fake meats and fake meats are always totally suitable for vegetarians. I live in the UK though, so I don't totally know, but I would think that Morning Star Farms are completely veggie. They might have milk or eggs in them, but if you have milk and eggs, then it isn't a problem. Hope this helps!
All Morningstar Farms products are vegetarian but most of them contain milk or egg. I'm assuming in your case that you want to know which products are vegan.

You can check ingredients here http://www.morningstarfarms.com/products鈥?/a>Is morningstar farms 100% vegetarian?
I am about 99% sure that MS farms products are 100% vegetarian. I've been eating them for about 15 years now. The only reason I say 99 percent sure and not 100 percent sure is because, well, you just can't be 100 sure about anything really.
Yes, but I don't know that it is vegan, you'd probably have to check the product label for that if you ever go vegan. Is morningstar farms 100% vegetarian?
Yes, but most of their products are not vegan, in case you where wondering
    Yup.
    Yes
